About us
Ha Giang Native Tour is a local tour operator based in Ha Giang, northern Vietnam, owned and run by Bui Thanh Dung. We run private trips on the Ha Giang Loop: a 4-day / 3-night trip and a 3-day / 2-night trip, travelled with an Easy Rider (you ride as a passenger behind a local rider-guide), in a private car with a driver-guide, or in a jeep on request.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Ha Giang Native Tour. "You" means the person who makes the booking and every traveller in their group.
Booking and confirmation
- Asking questions and getting a trip plan with a price costs nothing. You owe nothing until you decide to book.
- To book, you accept the trip plan we send you and pay a deposit of 10% of the trip price. We send you an invoice showing your name, the trip, the dates and the amounts.
- Your booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and told you so in writing, on WhatsApp or by email. Your dates are not held before that.
- The person who books accepts these terms on behalf of everyone in the group, and is responsible for giving us correct details: names, number of travellers, dates, health notes and dietary needs.
- We may decline a booking if we believe the trip would not be safe or suitable for a traveller. Any money already paid is then refunded in full.
Prices and payment
- Prices are per person, in US dollars, and depend on the trip, the way you travel and the size of your group. They are shown on our tour pages and in your trip plan.
- The price on your confirmed invoice does not change, unless you change the trip yourself (the number of travellers, the dates, the vehicle or extra nights).
- Deposit: 10% of the trip price, paid when you book.
- Balance: paid on the first day of the trip, before departure, by card, bank transfer or cash.

What the price includes
4-day / 3-night trip
- Your own guide for the four days
- The motorbike with your rider-guide, or the private car with its driver; petrol
- A quality helmet, protective riding armour and a raincoat
- 3 nights in a private room with its own bathroom
- Every meal on the road (4 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 3 dinners) and drinking water
- All park, viewpoint and entrance fees, the border area permit, the Ma Pi Leng skywalk and the Nho Que river boat
- A luggage bag, with your bags moved ahead between stays
- Travel insurance worth 7,500,000 VND (about 300 USD) per person
Not included: coffee, beer, soft drinks and tips.
3-day / 2-night trip
- An English-speaking guide, with Easy Riders and the motorbike and petrol, or the car with its driver
- Full riding gear: helmet, protective gear, raincoat and a waterproof bag cover
- All meals and drinking water, and all entrance fees
- A private room with its own bathroom on the trip, and one night in a shared dorm at our hostel before it (a private room that night costs 300,000 VND more)
- Luggage storage at our hostel during the trip, and a shower there afterwards
Not included: drinks, personal expenses and personal travel insurance.
Buses to and from Ha Giang are not part of the trip price. We can book a seat for you; the fare is paid separately.
How your trip is provided
- Trips start in Ha Giang City. The 4-day trip leaves at 09:00 on day 1 and ends back in Ha Giang City at about 16:30 on day 4.
- After your booking is confirmed we send you, on WhatsApp, the meeting point, your guide's name and phone number, and what to bring.
- Your invoice and our written confirmation are your proof of purchase. We sell travel services only; nothing is shipped to you.
Changes you make
- The trip runs every day. Moving your start date more than 7 days before departure is free. A later change is handled as set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
- Adding or removing travellers, or changing the way you travel, changes the price. We send you a new invoice for the new trip.
- Please tell us about any change as early as you can, on WhatsApp.
Route changes, weather and safety
Ha Giang is a mountain region. Landslides, fog, heavy rain, roadworks or an order from the local authorities can close a road at short notice. Your guide may change the route, the order of the stops or the timing of a day to keep the group safe, and will replace a missed stop with a similar one where possible. A change made for safety reasons does not give a right to a refund.
- If an official road closure or extreme weather stops the trip before it starts, you can move it to a new date for free or have your money refunded in full.
- If we have to cancel your trip for any other reason, you choose between a new date and a full refund of everything you have paid.
Riding and road safety
- With an Easy Rider you ride as a passenger and need no licence. Wear the helmet and protective gear we provide whenever you are on the motorbike, and follow your rider-guide's instructions.
- If we agree in writing that you ride a motorbike yourself, you must hold a licence valid in Vietnam for that motorbike and ride within your ability. Riding without a valid licence can void your insurance; that risk is yours. Your guide may stop you riding if they judge it unsafe.
- No one rides or drives after drinking alcohol, and illegal drugs are not allowed on our trips.
Health and fitness
The trip means long days on winding mountain roads. Before you book, tell us about any medical condition, pregnancy, back or neck problem, recent surgery or motion sickness. It is your responsibility to judge whether the trip suits your health. If your guide judges that you cannot safely continue, they may move you to another vehicle or end your trip; the unused part is not refunded.
Documents and conduct
- You need a valid passport and Vietnamese visa. We need your passport details to arrange the border area permit, which is included in the price. Carry your passport throughout the trip.
- Respect the people, customs and homes you visit, including the families who host you. Ask before photographing people.
- We may end the trip for a traveller whose behaviour puts others at risk, breaks the law or is abusive to our team, our hosts or other people, with no refund.
- Damage you cause deliberately or through misuse to vehicles, equipment or rooms is paid by you.
Insurance
On the 4-day trip every traveller is covered by travel insurance worth 7,500,000 VND (about 300 USD) per person, arranged by us. The 3-day trip does not include insurance. Whichever trip you take, we strongly recommend your own travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation and travel by motorbike.
Luggage and belongings
Bring a small bag for the trip; large luggage can be stored with us in Ha Giang City while you are away. Keep your passport, money, phone and other valuables with you. We are not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal belongings unless it is caused by our negligence.
Photos
Our guides often take photos and videos of the trip for you. We only use photos in which you appear on our website or social media with your agreement.
Our liability
- We take reasonable care in choosing our rider-guides, drivers, vehicles and places to stay, and we are responsible for providing the services in your booking as described.
- We are not liable for loss, injury, damage or delay caused by your own actions, by events beyond our control, or by services you did not book through us.
- Our total liability for any claim is limited to the price you paid for the trip, except where Vietnamese law does not allow such a limit.
Events beyond our control
We are not liable for failing to provide a service because of events we cannot reasonably foresee or prevent: natural disasters, landslides, floods, storms, epidemics, government orders, road closures, strikes or civil unrest. In those cases we offer a new date or a refund as set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Complaints and payment disputes
- If something is wrong during the trip, tell your guide or message us on WhatsApp straight away, so we can put it right on the spot.
- After the trip, send your complaint in writing within 14 days of the end of the trip, with your name and invoice number. We reply within 3 working days and aim to settle every complaint within 14 days.
- Please contact us before opening a dispute or chargeback with your card issuer. Most problems are settled faster directly with us. If a dispute is opened, we provide the bank with the booking details, the invoice and these terms as accepted at booking.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any dispute is first settled by negotiation between us; if that fails, it is settled by the competent court of Vietnam.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. Your booking is governed by the version in force on the day you paid your deposit.
